BRIDGEWATER PUBLIC SCHOOLS
SCHOOL CHOICE PROGRAM GUIDELINES
This program is voted on by
the West Bridgewater School Committee every year.
The School Committee has voted
to accept students into the program for the 2008-2009 school year.
� The
number of students admitted will be based on space available as determined by
the school district.
� The
School Choice Program allows students from Massachusetts’ towns other than West
Bridgewater to attend the West Bridgewater Public Schools. The School Choice
Program is only available for non-residents, as determined by the Department of
Education. Transportation to West Bridgewater will be the responsibility of the
parent.
� Applications
and guidelines for School Choice may be obtained by contacting the office of the
Superintendent of Schools, 2 Spring Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379,

Completed applications for the School
Choice Program will be accepted by the Superintendent of Schools via the U. S.
Postal Service or other mail delivery service. Faxes will not be
accepted. Applications should be addressed to:

� Should
the number of applications exceed the number of vacancies, all applications will
be placed in a lottery for the particular grade. Any application not chosen
will be held and placed in a lottery as seats become available based on the
grade level indicated in the application.

Students accepted into the School Choice
Program will be notified. Parents must make a commitment, in writing, to accept
placement when notified by the West Bridgewater Public Schools.

Students accepted for the School Choice
program who meet federal guidelines for free or reduced price lunch are also
eligible for free or reduced lunch. Information can be obtained from the office
of the Superintendent of Schools.
